Celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2011, RM's flagship European sale has a proven track record as the UK's most consistently successful and highest grossing collector car auction, a reputation earned for its stunning consignments, record prices and international clientele. This year's sale, scheduled for October 26, promises to continue the grand tradition, offering another magnificent roster of quality automobiles. In total, some 80 automobiles are expected to cross the auction block during the single-day sale, catering to a diverse range of automotive tastes. Leading consignments for the sale is a stunning and highly original 1955 Ferrari 750 Monza Scaglietti Spyder, s/n 0502, driven in period by Ernie McAfee (Est. 1,550,000 1,800,000); a well-documented 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Cabriolet A, chassis number 5363; and a historic 1972 Alfa Romeo 33-3 TT, raced extensively by the famed Autodelta team in 1972 including at both Le Mans and Targa Florio (Est. 525,000 - 575,000) Other notable entries include a highly desirable LHD alloy-bodied 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Alloy Berlinetta, s/n 08255, showing just 26,400km from new (Est. 660,000- 720,000); a rare 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Cabriolet, chassis number 913048, boasting a fascinating provenance and one of only two examples believed to have been completed in this style by Touring (Est. 180,000 - 220,000) and a freshly-restored 1964 Aston Martin DB5 (Estimate: 220,000 260,000).
