For more than 35 years, The Stable, Ltd. has been selling fine Thoroughbred Motorcars to discerning customers from its home in middle of the "horse country" in the beautiful Somerset Hills area of western New Jersey. Founded in 1973 with five cars in a converted stable/showroom, the business remains today at home in Peapack-Gladstone, just one mile from the headquarters of the United States Equestrian team and four miles from the headquarters of The United States Golf Association. By 1985, The Stable, Ltd. had converted more space in its home to house fifteen cars, but much more space was needed. That year, another site, just three buildings away, beckoned the 12-year old business. The building there, a vintage Chevrolet dealership built in 1937, offered indoor space for more than fifty cars and great expansion potential for The Stable, Ltd. Over the years, the business has grown to include a four-lift, six-bay service area, an additional showroom next door and three additional storage buildings which currently stable more than fifty customers' cars for periods ranging from one month to sixteen years (the current longest period for an automobile-in-residence!) The main objective of The Stable, Ltd. is to provide discerning customers with prime examples of great automobile design, performance, comfort and appeal. These examples have ranged over the years in vintage from one turn of the century to the next and in lineage from the United States to many countries in Europe Our Customer base has grown through word-of-mouth to include customers from around the world; from captains of industry to royal families to Hollywood luminaries and other national figures. Our service department handles all phases of mechanical repairs for exotics as well as every-day cars. Also located on our premises is the auto upholstery shop Maximilian Classics, specializing in auto interior restoration, such as convertible tops, leather upholstery redying, or interior leather replacement.
